Our History

The group was founded by a seasoned banker Mr. Gokul Bakshi, who worked for the Bank Of Baroda for over 2 decades, including Georgetown & British Guyana, South America, while he was in banks’ service. His last leg of transfer was at Surat, where he worked from 1977 to 1987, after which, he decided to make Surat his home town by resigning from banks’ service. He formed a partnership firm named ANAND ENTERPRISE, taking up dealership of the polyester yarn stalwart RELIANCE INDUSTRIES LTD. Making a sober beginning, the firm encompassed sales growth year on year, adding products & customers not only in & around Surat, but all over India & abroad.

In 1996, his son, ANAND BAKSHI joined business & introduction of the next generation to business showed shining results & the sales & profitability graphs grew at an accelerated pace, as up country sales & exports started taking place. The group took over a Company in 2003 with a clear intention of making it a flagship company. The loss making company was revived within a few years, clearing all the carry forward losses & turning it into a profit centre.

The group has consolidated all their activities of yarn trading, deemed manufacturing of yarn & fabrics & construction under the company by taking over existing businesses of ANAND ENTERPRISE & other 4 sister concerns to carry forward the vision of the group by putting into action what they visualised while taking over the company in 2003. The effort was to have all activities under one roof & the shareholders of the company unanimously decided to convert this PVT. LTD. CO. Into a PUBLIC LTD. Co., thus raising their capital from 2 Crores to 15 Crores.

The group has ventured into infrastructure development by having a major stake in 2 construction projects Named Shree Krishna Enclave at Vadod, Pandesara, having around 230 dwelling units & Shree Krishna Heritage at Dindoli, Surat, having 464 houses & 28 shops.

Mr. Gokul Bakshi started PRIME CO-OPERATIVE BANK LTD. In 1994, which today ranks amongst the top 10 co-operative banks in Gujarat. The bank has received over 70 awards by various institutions & Mr. Bakshi was awarded best chairman amongst co-operative banks in 2015. Anand joined the board of directors of the bank in 2010 & was awarded best youth Chairman in 2016. The bank has taken into merger 6 weak co-operative banks relieving money of 73000 small & medium size depositors & by retaining the same staff of those erstwhile banks, turned them into profit centres. Today the bank has 36 branches across the state with over 120,000 customers, over 15000 member-shareholders, more than 1500 CRORES of total business, about 350 staff members & are aggressively persuing micro finance to people below poverty line, giving them loans without mortgage, without margin money & without guarantor, suiting its social cause.

Mr. Bakshi is also a trustee of the DISABLE WELFARE TRUST OF INDIA, who run a school for the physically handicapped children from std.1 to 12th, giving them free education. School buses pick up every child from its door step & the trust does not accept donations.
